PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve display quality by improving a penetration ratio in a pixel area. CONSTITUTION: A pixel electrode(120) is formed a pixel area defined by crossing a gate line and a data line(150). A TFT(Thin Film Transistor)(130) is connected to the pixel electrode. A protection layer(160) is formed on the pixel electrode. An insulation layer(190) is constructed by an available material on the protection layer. A common electrode(170) is formed on the insulation layer.
