<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outside recognition device for a vehicle for effectively and efficiently observing the movement of an object according to own vehicle speed in a fixed processing period by adjusting imaging timing according to an own vehicle behavior. <P>SOLUTION: An outside recognition device 1000 for a vehicle includes an image acquisition section 1011 for capturing images from an imaging apparatus such as a camera 1010 and imaging timing means 1031 for adjusting timing for capturing the images from the camera 1010. Image capture is performed in the fixed period set by the imaging timing means and the image capture is irregularly performed in the period. The own vehicle speed is acquired by own vehicle behavior acquisition means 1021, timing for irregular image capture is adjusted according to the acquired own vehicle speed, a foreground and a background are separated using the captured images, and an object having a possibility of a collision is detected from the foreground. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
