<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket housing adaptable to differently-sized LED printed circuit boards. <P>SOLUTION: A socket housing is provided for light emitting diode (LED) packages having an LED printed circuit board (18). The socket housing includes first and second housing segments (46) that define a recess (16) therebetween for receiving an LED package therein. The first and second housing segments are configured to engage the LED printed circuit board of the LED package to secure the LED package within the recess.
