<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar battery capable of increasing generation efficiency with such a configuration that quantum dot layers are provided on a silicon substrate. <P>SOLUTION: The solar battery has a plurality of laminated quantum dot layers on a major surface of a silicon substrate.
