A HORSE NOVEL GENE CONTAINING IMMUNOGLOBIN RECEPTOR DOMAIN

PURPOSE: A novel gene with an immunoglobin receptor domain is provided to study horse immunocytes and bone cells, and to develop an antibody and methods for diagnosing and treating joint diseases in a horse. CONSTITUTION: A novel gene in a horse is isolated from horse blood or muscle and has a nucleotide of sequence number 1. A nucleic acid molecule encoding OSCAR5-like protein with a horse immunoglobin receptor domain is selected from the group consisting of nucleic acid molecules containing a nucleotide sequence of sequence number 1. The isolated nucleic acid molecule contains a nucleotide sequence encoding a protein with 40% or more homology with an amino acid sequence of OSCAR5 protein. A polypeptide forming OSCAR5-like protein or a part thereof has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 2. The novel OSCAR5-like protein contains the polypeptide or a part thereof.
