<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of deterioration in accuracy of calibration due to a difference produced other than mixed color of a printer when sheets having different glossiness are used at the time of target value calculation and at the time of measurement value calculation in mixed color calibration. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus of the present invention comprises: first obtaining means which obtains a target value and a first surface characteristic value which is a surface characteristic of a first chart; second obtaining means which obtains a second surface characteristic value which is a surface characteristic of a second chart; determination means which compares the first surface characteristic value obtained by the first obtaining means and the second surface characteristic value obtained by the second obtaining means, and determines whether or not there is a difference equal to or greater than a threshold between the first surface characteristic value and the second surface characteristic value; and calibration means which executes calibration of mixed color using the target value and the measurement value of the second chart when it is determined that the difference between the first surface characteristic value and the second surface characteristic value is equal to or smaller than the threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
