<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided an auxiliary brake device that is easy to control and can take in and eject gas by means of one auxiliary valve. <P>SOLUTION: The auxiliary valves 4 driven to be opened and closed by actuators 3 are provided to cylinder heads 2 of respective cylinders #1-#4, respectively. Auxiliary intake and exhaust pipes 6 respectively communicated with insides of the cylinders 5 via the auxiliary valves 4 are connected to the cylinder heads 2, respectively.
