<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a mounting system as a realistic holographic display by adopting an approach for compensating performance deficiency of an SLM (Spatial Light Modulator) from an aspect of an optical system. <P>SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, the holographic display device includes: a light source; a condensing optical element; a spatial light modulator; a switching unit of condensing positions; and a light-shielding part. The condensing optical element condenses reference light output from the light source. The spatial light modulator has a two-dimensional array structure and modulates at least either one of the intensity and the phase of the reference light output from the condensing optical element for every pixel. The switching unit switches the condensing position of the reference light output from the condensing optical element to any condensing position of the plurality of condensing positions. The light-shielding part is disposed to remove unnecessary light in the plurality of condensing position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
