<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To help a user to easily judge when to perform maintenance of cleaning of a recording liquid ejection means in an image forming apparatus adjusting a distance between the recording liquid ejection means and a recording surface of a recording medium in response to the thickness of the recording medium and forming an image by ejecting recording liquid from the recording liquid ejection means to the recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: A main control part 80 detects whether the distance between a recording head 24 and a recording surface of a sheet is a preset normal distance when determining the propriety of maintenance of the recording head 24 on the basis of a preset determination reference at a predetermined timing, differentiates the determination reference between the case in which the distance between the recording head 24 and the recording surface of the sheet is the preset normal distance and the case other than the normal distance, and performs the notification when it is determined by the determination that the maintenance is required. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
