<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can further reduce power consumption of a backlight. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes: an operating part 13 accepting an operation by a user; a receiving part 21 receiving data for a print job from an externally connected instrument, an image forming part 16 starting an image forming based on a print job if the operating part 13 an operation to start the print job or if the receiving part 21 receives data for the print job; a display part 11 displaying varieties of information for printing on a display area; a lighting part 12 illuminating the display part 11 from a back part thereof, and a control part 22 causing lighting of the lighting part 12 to be turned off if the lighting part 12 is turned on when the image forming part 16 starts an image forming. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
