<p>The invention relates to a section insulator for two aligned rigid conductor rails (1, 2), said section insulator forming a closed system in that, in the extension of each conductor rail (1, 2), a conductive skid (13, 15) and an insulating skid (20, 21) rigidly connected to the conductive skid are connected to the opposing conductor rail. The lower side of the skids (13, 15; 20, 21), facing the travel plane, is arranged in a contact plane (22).
