<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excimer lamp that is an external electrode type having a base fixed to an end of a light emission tube with an adhesive, and free of insulation trouble due to an overflow of the adhesive to outside the base. <P>SOLUTION: The excimer lamp has a rectangular cylindrical base formed by a pair of flat wall part opposite wall parts, opposed to a pair of flat wall parts of a rectangularly-sectioned flat light emission tube provided with an external electrode, and a pair of side wall part opposed wall parts, and the base is fixed to at least one end of the light emission tube with an adhesive injected into the gap between an inner peripheral surface of the base and an outer peripheral surface of the light emission tube. The base has a recessed part for adhesive reservoir formed on an inner surface of a side wall part opposed wall part, and a through hole for adhesive injection having a hole diameter larger than the width of a gap between the side wall part opposed wall part and a side wall part of the light emission tube has one opening on an external surface of one flat wall part opposed wall part, and the other opening facing the recessed part for adhesive reservoir on an internal surface of the flat wall part opposed wall part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
