<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering device for detecting an abnormal condition in a hydraulic control valve even while a vehicle is driven. <P>SOLUTION: A control unit has a function as a determination unit, and estimates torque Ta generated in an electric motor on the basis of a drive current value Ia of the electric motor when a spool is shifted to a target rotation angle θt.
