<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress interference with a passenger by configuring a sensor-side control unit so as to minimize generation of optical beams in optical wireless communication with a body-side control unit, in automatic operation of a passenger conveyor. <P>SOLUTION: The passenger conveyor is provided with an automatic operation control system which includes a sensor-side control unit 1 having a human detection sensor 2 and a body-side control unit 22 having a drive control unit, and performs an operation start and an operation temporary stop of the passenger conveyor. The sensor-side control unit 1 includes the human detection sensor 2, a microcomputer 3, and an optical transmission light emission unit 7, creates a control signal of the operation start by the microcomputer in response to passenger detection by the human detection sensor during the operation stop, and transmits the control signal by optical wireless communication to the body-side control unit. The sensor-side control unit further computes whether a passenger is on the passenger conveyor by the microcomputer based on the timing of the passenger detection, creates a control signal of an operation temporary stop when the computing result indicates no boarding, and transmits the signal by optical wireless communication. The sensor-side control unit does not optically transmit both the control signals of the operation start and operation temporary stop from the optical transmission light emission unit while a passenger is boarded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
