A system is described for producing three-dimensional models by means of a technique for applying a layer of fluid construction material to a construction platform of an interchangeable container (12), wherein substantially horizontal feeding and removal areas are provided for feeding the construction platform (19) into a construction device and for removing it therefrom. When the construction platform (19) has been introduced into the construction device, it is brought into engagement with the construction device at least in part during a layer application process, and a jaw clamping device that can be brought into engagement with a subsection of the construction platform (19) is provided on the construction device side underneath the construction platform (19) in a position of the construction platform when it has been introduced into the construction device.
