PURPOSE: A wide angle lens system and a photographing apparatus including the same are provided to implement a less distorted image for a wide range and to have a wide viewing angle with brightness. CONSTITUTION: A wide angle lens system has a first lens group(G1) having negative refractive power and a second lens group(G2) having positive refractive power in order from the side of an object. EFL which is a whole effective focal length[mm]satisfies EFL BETWEEN 1.2 and 1.8. Fno which is F-number satisfies Fno between 1.6 and 2.2. BFL which is a back focal length is greater than 6.
