Contemplated is a conspicuity device that comprises: at least one housing having inner and outer portions; at least one power inlet means when the device is required to operate from an external power source; at least one LED lamp attached to an inner portion of the housing where the LED lamp contains at least one LED module containing at least one non-laser GaN-on-GaN high brightness LED die; at least one cover that covers at least a portion of the LED lamp(s) and where the device's emitted light is able to be clearly and suitably interpreted and is of a discriminating nature and in significant contrast to the device's immediate surroundings to attract the visual attention of a suitable observer. Uses for the disclosed conspicuity device includes: buildings, structures, thoroughfares, vehicles, chattels, waterways and geographical locations.
