<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine vision system program edition environment including a real time context generation function. <P>SOLUTION: A substitute data operation is executed to generate a context actually used for editing without executing all of proceeding commands of a part program by using a previously stored data in place of execution of a specific command set. A set of substitute data may be stored during an actual execution of an operation stored in a part program. In an edition execution mode, the set of the data is replaced with the substitute data, and an operation is executed to generate the data. The context generation saves a large amount of time, and the edition is carried out with the operation context; and thus, the operation context is repeatedly updated substantially at real time for ensuring precision.
