<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leaf seal for forming a seal between two coaxial and relatively rotating components. <P>SOLUTION: Leaves 42 are stacked face-to-face within an annular pack and mountable to one of the components at respective base parts 49 of the leaves 42. The leaves 42 thereby extend toward the other component, and the respective edges 46 of the leaves 42 are provided to come in sliding contact with the other component. The annular pack includes a plurality of spacers, and each spacer separates the base parts 49 of the adjacent leaves 42 to form therebetween inter-leaf gaps 50 which allow an axial leakage flow through the annular pack. The spacers 43 are distributed around the annular pack such that the leaves 42 are divided into blocks of two or more leaves 42 sandwiched at the base parts 49 between the closest spacers 43. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
