<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a deterioration in positional accuracy of an image due to non-existence of a loop of a sheet during a sheet refeeding operation. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a pair of registration rollers to feed the sheet, which has been conveyed along a sheet conveyance path, toward a transfer unit; a pair of loop forming rollers configured to form the loop by feeding the sheet by a first length (L1) after making the leading end of the sheet to bump against a bump part provided on the pair of registration rollers on the sheet conveyance path; and a control unit configured to control the operation of both the pairs of rollers. The control unit is configured to, when refeeding the sheet toward the transfer unit together with the pair of registration rollers, control the operation of both the pairs of registration rollers and loop forming rollers such that the press contact between the loop forming rollers may be released at the timing when the sheet is fed by a second length (L2) shorter than the first length (L1). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
