Disclosed is a method for use in discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration. The method comprises: receiving a DRX configuration message from a base station, where configuration parameters of the DRX configuration message comprise a DRX cycle configuration and an On-Duration configuration; and determining, on the basis of the activation state of an On-Duration timer, an activation time of the new On-Duration configuration, or determining an application time of the new DRX cycle configuration. Correspondingly, also provided in the present invention is a user equipment. Implementation of the method and user equipment provided in the present invention solves the problem of desynchronization between DRX states of the base station and of the UE during a DRX cycle transition process, and prevents wastage of scheduling resources. |
