This diaphragm for redox flow batteries comprises a porous membrane (10) which has a mean flow pore diameter of 100 nm or less, a thickness of 500 mum or less and an air flow rate of 0.1 ml/s.cm2 or more. In cases where the diaphragm for redox flow batteries is used in a V-V redox flow battery, it is preferable that the mean flow pore diameter of the a porous membrane (10) is 30 nm or less.
