NAVIGATION METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SELECTING A DESTINATION

A method for selecting a destination on a navigation apparatus (200), wherein the navigation apparatus comprises an electronic map to be used in destination selection. According to the method, an input (402, 404) causing the selection of an intermediate location (406) is received and a portion of the map including the selected intermediate location is displayed on the navigation apparatus. These two steps can be repeated once or more as desired. A further input is received which causes the selection of a destination location (414, 422) on our using the displayed portion of the map. A route is then calculated from a start point, which can be the currently location of the navigation apparatus, to a point associated with the selected destination location (414, 422).
