To accomplish the objective, the multilingual speech system of the character according to the present invention comprises: a context-aware unit which recognizes the surroundings; a conversation selection unit which selects spoken words in accordance with the recognized surroundings; a Unicode multilingual database in which the spoken words are stored in Unicode-based multiple languages according to languages of respective nations; a behavior expression unit which expresses behaviors in accordance with the selected spoken words; and a work processing unit which controls the synchronization and expression of the selected spoken words and the behaviors in accordance with the spoken words.
