<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device capable of reliably recognizing the presence of an annular frame by reliably sensing the annular frame in which a workpiece is held, in a place of a temporary placement means of the cutting device. <P>SOLUTION: A temporary placement means includes a pair of guide rails holding a workpiece unit therebetween and an optical sensor comprising a light receiving element and a light emitting element facing each other in the vertical direction across the guide rails and arranged so that a light beam passes between the two guide rails. When the workpiece unit is present in a predetermined range in a longitudinal direction of the guide rails, the workpiece unit interrupts the light beam of the optical sensor.
