<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin type image display device for displaying an image according to an observer's eyesight and to provide an optical equipment including the same. <P>SOLUTION: An image display device comprises: a first and a second display elements 11, 13 for switching between a display state and a light transmission state; a refractive power variable element 12 which is disposed in the side of direction of emission from the second display element 13 and can be adjusted to at least two states which are a state in which its refractive power is approximately zero and a state in which it has a positive refractive power; a light source 14; and a control part 15 which controls the state of each display element and the state of the refractive power of the refractive power variable element 12. The control part 15 switches between: a first display state in which the refractive power of the refractive power variable element 12 is set to approximately zero, the second display element 13 is in the light transmission state, and the first display element 11 is made to display an image by guiding light emitted from the light source 14 to the first display element 11; and a second display state in which the refractive power of the refractive power variable element 12 is set to be positive, the first display element 11 is in the light transmission state, and the image displayed by the second display element 13 is enlarged and displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
