<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate, a planar light source device, and a transmission image display device with improved straight-travelling properties of light while securing freedom of designing. <P>SOLUTION: The transmission image display device 1 has a convex prism part 21 formed on a side face 11c of the light guide plate 11, and further has a plurality of convex parts 41 aligned on a front face 11a of the light guide plate 11, extended from the side face 11c over toward its opposite face 11d. Due to the convex prism part 21 and the convex parts 41, straight-travelling properties of light inside the light guide plate 11 is enhanced. Furthermore, in the transmission image display device 1, light from the light source 10 is made refracted at the convex prism part 21 to be incident into the light guide plate 11 as the light source 10 is set separated from the side face 11c of the light guide plate 11.
