PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that though titanium oxide is used in the field of a solar cell and a photocatalyst in photoreactions, the absorption wavelength of titanium oxide is generally in the UV region and its use purpose is limited, and that it is known that titanium oxide or the like shows a photoreaction upon irradiation with light and exhibits a strong catalytic function, and titanium oxide is applied to deodorization, removal of dirt and sterilization of coli bacteria, etc., but light utilization efficiency is low because heretofore titanium oxide has an absorption peak for UV light mainly of ≤400 nm.
SOLUTION: A vanadium crystallized composite oxide heat-treated at a temperature, at which crystallization occurs, or above is irradiated with light and provided as a new photoreactive material which reacts up to a long wavelength region. The band gap of titanium oxide is 3.2 eV. The band gap of the vanadium crystallized composite oxide is 1.0-2.5 eV according to the composition, and the absorption wavelength region of the new photoreactive material has a long wavelength broad range.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
