<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical reaction device in which contents can be irradiated efficiently with microwaves even if the amount of contents changes. <P>SOLUTION: The chemical reaction device includes: a horizontal flow type reactor 13 the inside of which is partitioned into a plurality of chambers by partition plates and in which the liquid contents flow horizontally while leaving an unfilled space in the upper part thereof; a microwave generator 14 for generating microwaves; and one or more waveguides 15 for transmitting the microwaves, which are generated in the microwave generator 14, to the unfilled space of the reactor 13.
