<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high efficiency elastic wave device with a low insertion loss. <P>SOLUTION: The elastic wave device includes: a piezoelectric substrate 12 having a concave reciprocal velocity region of elastic wave; and an elastic wave resonator 13 having a pair of interdigitated array electrode 15 formed on the surface of the piezoelectric substrate. The pair of interdigitated array electrode has a pair of opposing common electrodes 16 and plural electrode fingers 17 alternately extending from the respective common electrodes toward the other common electrode. Defining an area where the electrode fingers intersect with each other as an intersection area and an area connecting gaps 19 between the interdigitated array electrodes facing the front end of the electrode fingers as a gap area, a step 25 is formed in the gap area so that the height of the surface of the piezoelectric substrate is lower than the height of the surface of the piezoelectric substrate in the intersection area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
