ON-VEHICLE CAMERA AND ON-VEHICLE CAMERA SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle camera capable of accurately detecting the position of an own vehicle and vehicle speed even when it is predicted that accuracy of a vehicle speed sensor and a GPS is low.

SOLUTION: The on-vehicle camera includes: an image pickup device for acquiring an image on a front side or a rear side of the own vehicle; an image recognition section for extracting a feature point from the image; a vehicle speed determination section for determining accuracy of the detected vehicle speed information and present position information of the own vehicle; a distance-between-feature-points measurement section for measuring a distance between the feature point and a past feature point extracted in the past; an own vehicle position correction section for correcting the position of the own vehicle on the basis of the feature point and a registered feature point registered in a recording device in advance; and a vehicle speed correction section for measuring and correcting vehicle speed on the basis of the distance measured by the distance-between-feature-points measurement section and time for passing the distance.
