This light source apparatus has: a substrate; a light source mounted on the substrate; a first temperature measuring element, which measures a temperature of a periphery of the substrate, and outputs first signals that indicate measurement results; a second temperature measuring element, which measures a temperature of the substrate, and outputs second signals that indicate measurement results; and a light source drive control unit, which controls drive of the light source. The light source drive control unit does not permit the light source to be driven in the case where a temperature indicated by means of the second signals is lower than a temperature indicated by means of the first signals.
