<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more reliably confirm that a user has read a character string. <P>SOLUTION: A character string confirmation device 10 displays a character string on a touch panel 30, allows the displayed character string to be traced with a finger, and determines whether all characters included in the displayed character string are touched in order from the first character and a time in which the character string is traced is within a predetermined effective time.
