<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a far infrared ray radiating and/or absorbing device and a room environment adjusting system adjusting the room environment with high energy efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The far infrared ray radiating and/or absorbing device includes a main shaft and a counter shaft vertical to the main shaft, and includes a plurality of far infrared ray radiating and/or absorbing parts including a plurality of radiating and/or absorbing members 115 radiating and/or absorbing the far infrared rays and extending in an axial direction of the counter shaft. Two radiating and/or absorbing members 115e, 115f are arranged such that a sectional shape by a face vertical to the axial direction of the counter shaft is formed into an almost V-shape, and are arranged on one side and the other side of a face vertical to the main shaft passing through the counter shaft.
