<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of accessing a hardware device in a computer. <P>SOLUTION: A method of accessing a hardware device in a computer includes the steps of executing a metro user interface mode application in an operating system, and executing a desktop mode application in the operating system.
