<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle rear body structure capable of securing stiffness against an in-phase lateral force and also against a hetero-phase lateral force, and further capable of eliminating surface resonances around the frequencies of 300 Hz. <P>SOLUTION: A cross member part 23 includes: vehicle width directional side parts 23S extending downward on an inner side in a vehicle width direction from right and left side members 22, 22; and a center part 23C for connecting both vehicle width directional side parts 23S, 23S to each other, wherein the cross member part is constituted of a pipe material.
