<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate an occupant protecting device in the most suitable timing mainly according to the collision form of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 6 is provide with a collision form determining part 12 for determining the collision form 11 of a vehicle on the basis of the difference of detected values of a plurality of front side accelerator sensors 4a, 4b. A sub-operation signal 13 is output in a timing corresponding to the vehicle collision form 11 determined by the collision form determining part 12 and in a case of the collision form in which the difference of the detected value is made larger, a timing adjusting part 14 for delaying the output of the sub-operation signal 13 is provided.
