The invention relates to a method for identification and dosing of leflunomide in the patients' blood. According to the invention the method consists in quantitatively determining the leflunomide metabolite in human plasma using high pressure liquid chromatography in a chromatographic column, having a stationary phase with functional phenyl groups, a mobile polar phase comprising a mixture of acetonitrile and 0.3% formic acid solution in a ratio of 70:30 and UV detection at a wavelength of 290 nm.
