A method and a device for switching between base stations are disclosed, they are enable to realize switching between base stations for a user equipment and improve network load. The method comprises: a first base station sends a switching request message to adjacent base stations with itself(401); the adjacent base station judges whether to accept switching according to the information in the switching request message, and sends the judgment result to the first base station through a request response message(402); the first base station determines a target base station from adjacent base stations which can accept switching and sends a switching confirmation message to the target base station(403); after receiving the switching confirmation message, the target base station allocates resources for the user equipment and sends them to the first base station through the switching confirmation response message(404); the first base station indicates the user equipment switching to the target base station after receiving the switching confirmation response message(405). |
