PURPOSE: An AVN(Audio Video Navigation) system for guiding a vehicle progressing direction through differentiation between the sound output of left and right sides and a method thereof are provided to reduce time required for recognizing the vehicle progressing direction by a driver. CONSTITUTION: An AVN system(200) for guiding a vehicle progressing direction comprises a guide unit(210) and an amplifier(220). The guide unit outputs audio signals of guiding messages. The amplifier amplifies the audio signals of the guide unit. The amplifier amplifies the audio signals of the guide unit at a left/right sound rate proportionally to a progressing direction of the vehicle.
