PURPOSE: A device of a portable terminal using a conversation application including a notification function and a method thereof are provided to confirm notices by displaying the notices on a specific area of a conversation window even though conversation contents are scrolled. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(401) displays content on a specific area of a conversation window. A display unit(403) displays the displayed content even though the content is scrolled. An input unit(402) receives the content from a user through an input window of an application. The control unit receives a request for displaying the content on the conversation window. The user is a person who initially participating in a conversation. The input unit receives a specific key or a transmission key provided by the application.
