The present invention relates to a method for optimizing rendering of media content at a mobile device (10, 11) within an application client (12) which communicates with an application server (14) for at least one application. The method is characterized in that a network unit (13), which is interposed between the mobile device (10, 11) running the application client (12) and the application server (14), carries out at least the step of identifying messages of a predetermined application within the communication traffic and the step of analysing at least part of the identified message for information relating to predefined settings, which are related to the rendering of the media content.
