PURPOSE: A multilayer ceramic electronic component and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to enable implementation of high capacity and miniaturization by preventing cracks from being generated. CONSTITUTION: A multilayer ceramic electronic component includes a ceramic body(10) and internal electrode layers(21,22). When the internal electrode layers are divided into three regions along the thickness direction of the ceramic body, the internal electrode layers(21) of the central region(a) include metal powder coated with ceramic powder, and the internal electrode layers(22) of the upper and lower regions(b,b') include ceramic powder.
