The invention relates to a method and device for welding pipe sections (10) made of plastics to form pipes by means of the following units: a) a welding device (2) having four divided and partially movable clamping rings (6) for pipe sections (10), b) a hydraulic unit (3) for actuating the drive of the welding device (2), c) a milling device for radially face milling the pipe sections (10), and d) a two-sided heating device, wherein data for product, machine, environment, time, and hydraulic values are input into a networked control unit (1). In order to achieve the aim of ensuring that all critical parameters are adhered to and monitoring and indicating that the end products are reliably released, the method-specific data for the welding process are stored as desired values and measured method parameters from the aforementioned units a), b), c), and d) in the control unit (1) according to time and magnitude in such a way that the functions of said units are correlated and indicated after comparison with the specified desired values. |
