PURPOSE: A liquid crystal aligning agent is provided to obtain a good free-tilt angle by irradiation of polarized UV light or nonpolarized UV light. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal aligning agent contains a polyorganosiloxane containing a polymerizable double bond, and a polyorganosiloxane containing cinnamic acid structure. The polyorganosiloxane has a polymerizable double bond is represented by chemical formula A. The polyorganosiloxane is obtained by conduct a reaction of an epoxy group-containing polyorganosiloxane and cinnamic acid-containing carbonic acid. A manufacturing method of a liquid crystal alignment film comprises a step of forming a coating layer by spreading the liquid crystal aligning agent on a substrate; and a step of irradiating the coating layer with radiation.
