<p>There is disclosed a steering wheel (1) having a rim (4) comprising an armature (5) encapsulated by a cover (6) of resilient material. The cover (6) has a fixing groove (8) or recess formed therein so as to extend around the rim generally circumferentially with respect to the steering wheel. An outer skin (7) is formed from flexible material and is provided over and around the cover (6) such that two opposed edges (29) of the outer skin are both positioned within the fixing groove (8) or recess and fixed therein. The outer skin (7) comprises at least one seam (28d, 28e) terminating in a seam-end 33 located along a said edge (29) of the outer skin (7) such that each edge (29) of the outer skin positioned within the fixing groove (8) or recess has at least one said seam-end (33), and wherein the or each seam-end (33) formed along one said edge (29) is circumferentially offset around the rim (4) from the or each seam-end (33) formed along the other said edge (29).</p>
