The carriage (30) has a retaining unit (32) for retaining a transport container i.e. wire-basket (22), for a surgical instrument i.e. endoscope (20). The transport container is loadable with the surgical instrument. The retaining unit is vertically movable by a pneumatically operated or powered lifting device i.e. pneumatic cylinder (36) for the transport container, where vertical lowering speed of the retaining unit is adjustable. The lifting device is controlled by a control device and comprises a coupling device for connecting an air supply line of a treatment device (10). The transport carriage control device is connectable with a system controller using a local area network (LAN) or a wireless LAN (WLAN). An independent claim is also included for a system for treating the surgical instrument.
