The covering has an inner brake disk covering unit (10) for covering a brake disk (4), and a L-shaped outer shell (12) for covering a peripheral edge and an outer side of the brake disk. The outer shell is fastened to a fastening area of the inner covering unit, and overlaps the inner covering unit in the fastening area. Ventilation openings (30) are formed at a peripheral edge of the outer shell for cooling a disk brake (2), and comprise outwardly extending edges. The outer shell is arranged radially at an inner surface of a rim (14), and the openings are formed as passages.
