The method involves inserting a connection pipe (3) into an end of a circular-curved duct element e.g. metal hose (1), and circumferentially pressing the duct element on an outer surface (4) of the connection pipe using a retaining ring (8) e.g. profiled ring. The retaining ring is positioned in a wave trough (7) of the duct element, where the ring consists of same material as the duct element. The ring is reduced in its diameter directly and/or indirectly by magnetic shaping so that the ring presses the duct element circumferentially and permanently against the outer surface of the pipe. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a connection device (2) an arrangement for manufacturing a connection device.
