Formation of authentication (2) on surface of metal component (1) involves treating all portion or a portion of metal component surface where authentication is to be formed, to set a predetermined structure, carrying out forming process by introducing plastic deformation as mark (3) into the predetermined structure, removing material from surface into which mark (3) is introduced to at least penetration depth of mark (3) for smoothing marked surface and dissecting predetermined structure within the authentication.
